Phoenix, AZ - Day 2, 6/26/1999

Bus out in AZ desert For those of you who have read "Into the Wild" you probably know about 'The Bus' up in Alaska.  For those of you who do not know, well, I'm not going to explain.  All I can say is that this bus reminds me of the one that Alexander Supertramp died in.  It is located in the AZ desert, along the north side of I10, about 3 miles west of Tonopah.  While I was parked along side the freeway, exploring the bus, a highway patrol officer stopped, checked out all of my credentials, and gave me a warning about parking on the side of the road.

Moon light on the Monk After arriving in Phoenix I met up with a few friends and we decided to climb the Monk.  Because of the incredible Arizona heat we waited until near sunset to actually make the climb.  We ended up on the top watching the sunset in the west while the moon rose in east.  (Click on the Image to see a bigger picture)
